AC and Trunk Combo

jwelch68
Just curious if anyone has tested or has an opinion on if the AC works better or worse with the fiberglass trunk installed? I know the AC condenser fan pulls outside air thru the fins. Guess I'm thinking if the trunk is removed then the hot engine air would flow into the condenser and make the fan less efficient in pulling in outside air? I have an upgraded system from Quella with an extra row of fins on the condenser and the evaporator under the dash. Maybe it doesn't matter? I'm getting...Read More...

The GTS project that I received in February came with a vacuum pump for the power brake booster. The pump is needed because its 8 stack EFI does not readily supply good vacuum for the booster. I got a battery into the car and began sorting out the electrical systems including the vacuum pump. The pump is working and was cycling on and off. It seemed to provide good vacuum to the power brakes. The only issue is the pump is LOUD and sounds a little like my cheap 21 gallon Harbor Freight air...Read More...

I was looking thru a box of parts the other day for something completely different and ran across this piece! It is the original piece that came with my Goose a bazillion years ago......but was replaced with a more modern remote version that fit the new engine config better. So here it goes..... $40 includes shipping. You can FINALLY buy new Ford style repops and make them into a DeTomaso repop.....if you have the machine tools, nothing special, but if you do not have the ability to do...Read More...

Goose 8MA642 Refurb and Repaint

Switched to this thread from previous "Production Data" thread. The plan is to refurb both the exterior and the motor of 69 Goose 8MA642 (wouldn't call it a restoration). Will include pulling majority of components and have them cleaned/hot tanked/painted/chromed/etc or replaced if necessary, and replacing cam/lifters/pushrods to better accommodate Boss 302 with IDA Webers performance. Headers may be a bridge too far since the frame mod for the motor leaves very little room to route headers...Read More...

Hello all. New to Pantera and the forum, excited to be here! . I purchased #03749 a few months ago, it’s been parked for a while. I’m getting ready to start the resto and curious if anyone has info on the Vargas turbo set up this car has. Door opener- broken bucket

LeMans850i
Interior is still out and I noticed when I took the door opener off to do some paint touch up (not correctly installed and damaged the rear of the cutout in the door skin) that the buckets left and right where broken and also the handle return spring on the driver side was broken… you can see the cracks on the webbing going up from the spring! I sent the passenger side opener to Larry, @If-tp2511 and he artfully made the lock fit the key I had and he also replaced the not shiny trim around...Read More...

The GTS project that I received in February had been sitting for five years or so. There was no fluid in the brake master. I have all four brakes back on the car and everything is hooked up, sealed, and bled. If I pump the brake pedal several times there is a firm pedal. When I come back in five minutes or so the pedal goes to the floor. If I pump it several times the pedal is firm again. It seems like the brake master is tired. What are your thoughts? Thank you.Read More...
